Overview
Pre-landing pages make sure that only potential or interested visitors will make it through to the main landing page. Furthermore, the pre-landing page keeps the right traffic over the landing page so that you can utilise traffic efficiently.
For example, if the user is extremely interested, you can add a questionnaire that will check the user's interest, and only a specific age range of users will be allowed to pass through to the main landing page.
Why Use a Pre-Landing Page?
Pre-landing pages are useful because they help you:
Send only relevant and interested users to the main landing page
Improve conversion rates by filtering low-quality traffic
Educate users about the offer before they reach the final page
Qualify users based on age, interest, country, or other criteria
Reduce wasted traffic and improve ROI
Run different pre-landers for different countries, cities, ISPs, or audiences
For example, if you are promoting a finance offer that is only relevant for users above 25 years of age, you can create a pre-landing page with a short questionnaire. Only users who meet the age requirement will proceed to the final landing page.
How Pre-Landing Pages Work
The user journey typically works like this:
User clicks the publisher tracking link
User lands on the Pre-Landing Page
The Pre-Landing Page filters or qualifies the user
Interested or eligible users are redirected to the main landing page
The conversion is then recorded normally
Placement of script on Pre-Landing Page
If you want to add links to pre-landing pages that redirect visitors to the landing page selected by the publisher on their account, you must add the following code before the closing </body> tag.
Important
The script that needs to be placed before closing the <body/> is mentioned below:
<script src="//trk.xyz.com/js/prelander.js"></script>
Replace trk.xyz.com with your tracking domain.
Note: The click element on the pre-landing page should be wrapped around the <a> tag.

Adding a Pre-Landing Page to a Publisher Tracking Link
Once the pre-landing page has been created, you can attach it to the publisher tracking link.
Steps:
Select the required publisher
Generate the tracking link
Enable the Pre-Landers option
Select the pre-landing page you created earlier
Click Update
Once selected, the tracking link will automatically include the parameter:
&prl=1
You can then share the updated tracking link with your publisher.
The traffic coming through this link will first pass through the pre-landing page before reaching the main landing page.
