At a Glance: This article will walk you through the process of setting up VAS campaigns on the panel, while also providing a brief overview of the PIN flow and how it works.
Overview
Mobile Value Added Services (MVAS) enhance the functionality of mobile phones, offering more than just calls and texts. MVAS features include services like mobile banking, money transfers, bill payments, and even custom ringtones. For example, subscribing to a custom song for your ringtone falls under MVAS, adding convenience, entertainment, and productivity to your mobile experience.
PIN Flow
A PIN Flow is a method used to confirm a subscription by sending a One-Time Password (OTP) to the user’s mobile number.
Example of PIN Flow:
A streaming service offers a $5 payout for each verified subscription. Users enter their mobile number, receive an OTP via SMS, and enter it to confirm their subscription. Trackier logs the conversion after successful PIN verification and uses fraud filters to prevent repeated submissions from the same device.
2 PIN Flow
We currently offer the 2PIN flow, as it is commonly used by networks or agencies and involves two API calls to confirm the user's identity.
Use Case:
MVAS campaigns are often managed by network or agencies to cross-sell or upsell services. For these campaigns, integrating both Send PIN and Verify PIN APIs with Trackier ensures complete tracking of the campaign.
How the 2-PIN Flow Works:
Send PIN (OTP Triggered):
The user enters their mobile number on the publisher's landing page, triggering the Send PIN API to send an OTP.
This action registers a click event on the tracking platform.
Verify PIN (OTP Confirmation):
The user enters the OTP they received, and the Verify PIN API validates the code.
Upon successful verification, a conversion event is recorded, and the advertiser is notified via the PIN Validation API.
Real-Life Example:
Signing Up for a Music Streaming Subscription
Step 1: Send PIN (OTP is Triggered)
You click on a banner that says “Get 1 Month Free Premium!” and are directed to a page asking for your mobile number.
After entering your number, you submit it, triggering the Send PIN API, which sends an OTP to your phone. The system logs this as a click event.
Step 2: Verify PIN (OTP Confirmation)
You receive an OTP (e.g., 4567) and enter it on the verification page.
The system checks the code using the Verify PIN API. If the OTP is correct, your subscription is activated, and a conversion event is recorded.
Data Flow
Trackier captures the responses from the advertiser’s APIs and relays the necessary response data back to the publisher for real-time feedback on lead status.
Integration Steps~
Step 1: Access the Integration
Please navigate to Automation & Anti-Fraud Tools, then select PIN API and click on Configure to proceed.
Once you click on Configure, you will be redirected to the setup page.
Click on Actions and then select Add New to create a new configuration.
As networks often work with multiple advertisers—each having their own unique API URL—you will need to configure the PIN API separately for each advertiser.
Step2: Manage API
Select the advertiser from the dropdown list.
Enter a name for this PIN API. It can be the campaign name, advertiser name, or any name of your choice.
Provide the Send PIN API URL and the expected success response returned by the advertiser.
Enter the Verify PIN API URL along with the expected success response for verification.
Specify the campaign name associated with this configuration.
Set the status of the PIN API as Active or Inactive, depending on whether you want it enabled immediately.
Your PIN API is successfully set. You’re now ready to begin tracking for the VAS campaigns.
