Global Postback vs Event Postback

Both Global and Event postbacks are used to send conversion data via server-to-server tracking, but they differ in scope and control.

Overview

A postback (also known as a server-to-server or S2S postback) is a tracking method used to send conversion data directly from one server to another when a specific action is completed (such as an install, signup, or purchase).

Key Points:

  • Triggered when a defined conversion event occurs

  • Sends data directly between servers (no browser dependency)

  • More reliable than pixel-based tracking

  • Commonly used for tracking conversions, events, and payouts.

Types of Postbacks in Trackier

Trackier offers two types of S2S postbacks for tracking conversions:

  • Global Postback

  • Event Postback

Global Postback

A Global Postback is a single postback URL that tracks all conversion events.

Key Points:

  • One postback handles all events

  • No need to configure multiple URLs

  • Simple and quick to implement

  • Suitable for standard tracking setups

Event Postback

An Event Postback is used to track specific events individually, such as installs, registrations, or purchases.

Key Points:

  • Separate postback for each event

  • Provides granular tracking and control

  • Supports event-level reporting and optimization

  • Useful when different events have different payouts

Multiple URLs → each for a specific event

You can locate the Event Postback within a specific campaign by following these steps:
