What are re-targeting tags?

Retargeting pixels, also known as tracking pixels or remarketing pixels, are small pieces of code or scripts placed on a website to track visitors' activities and behavior. These pixels allow advertisers to collect data on how users interact with their website and then use that information to deliver targeted ads to those visitors when they browse other websites or social media platforms.

When a user visits a page with the retargeting pixel, the pixel records certain information, such as the user's IP address, cookies, and the specific actions they take on the website.

Based on the data collected by the pixel, the advertiser can create segmented lists of users who performed certain actions or exhibited particular behaviours. For example, a list could consist of users who abandoned their shopping carts or those who visited a specific product page.

After creating these lists, the advertiser can use them to serve targeted ads to the corresponding groups of users as they browse other websites or use social media platforms. For instance, someone who abandoned their cart on an e-commerce website might see an ad for the same product they were considering, encouraging them to complete their purchase.

Note 1: After choosing the publisher and inserting the code for the campaign and global retargeting pixels, Trackier will automatically generate a script for you. This script can then be placed anywhere on the website. It is important to know the appropriate location for this generated script.

The script for campaign retargeting pixels will be created specifically for the campaign you have chosen.
The script for global retargeting pixels will be created for all campaigns, and you can customize it for each individual publisher.

Note 2: Any changes to the retargeting pixels will take around 5–10 minutes to propagate, and only <script> tags are accepted.

Note 3: The Retargeting report for the pixel you have placed on Trackier will be easily visible to you on the same software from which you have taken the Retargeting pixel.

For Example: If the pixel is associated with GA, the reports will be visible on GA.
