How to Perform a Link Test on the Trackier Platform

Trackier provides the functionality to test your campaign or website links, evaluating hops, status, and load time to confirm they perform as intended.

Overview

The Link Test feature in Trackier helps you verify and validate tracking links before sending traffic. It ensures that your campaign URLs are working correctly, redirecting properly, and tracking all parameters as expected.

To perform a link test, go to the Automation section in your platform, click on the Offer Optimise option and open the Link Test tool. From there, you can test any tracking URL using different device and location settings.

Why Link Testing is Important

Link testing ensures that your campaign is technically correct before going live. It helps you:

  • Verify correct redirection flow

  • Detect broken or misconfigured tracking links

  • Ensure accurate tracking of clicks and conversions

  • Validate geo/device-based targeting rules

  • Avoid traffic loss due to incorrect URLs

  • Reduce campaign launch errors

How to Perform a Link Test

  • URL: Enter the URL of the link that you would like to test.

  • Device: It will ask you for the device through which you will access the link. It could be Apple, Android, a tablet, or a desktop.

  • Country: The country through which you will be accessing the link.

  • Version: This option will not appear if you choose "Desktop." It will ask you to mention the version of the phone and tablet you will be using to access the link.

Post-Analysis Result

Once you enter the URL and click on "Run test", it will show you the following:

  • Offer and Destination URL: This is to show and check if the URL is being redirected to any other place, as well as the actual destination URL of the link.

  • Hops: The total number of hops, i.e., the number of redirects between click and final destination

  • Status Code: This will tell you the status code, i.e., whether you are successful (200) or not (400).

  • Time: Time taken for the URL to load

Notes:

  • Always test links before launching live traffic

  • Use desktop + mobile tests to ensure full coverage

  • Ensure tracking parameters (click ID and macros) are correctly appended

  • If hops are too high, review redirect chains for performance impact

  • A 200 status code indicates a healthy and working link
