How to bulk upload conversion data?

This article provides detailed information about the Bulk Upload Conversions feature and explains the steps required to successfully upload and manage conversions on the platform.

Overview

In Trackier, users have the ability to upload new conversion data and make bulk edits to existing conversions according to their specific needs. Furthermore, this feature allows for a smooth and efficient migration from any previously used platform to Trackier.

We have divided the bulk upload feature into 3 use cases; you can check which suits you best according to your requirements.

  • Edit the existing conversion

  • Adding a new conversion

  • Migrating conversion data to Trackier from different platforms.

Steps to Upload or Edit Existing Conversions

Follow the steps below to upload new conversions or edit existing conversion data through CSV import:

Step 1: Prepare the CSV file

Make sure your CSV file is properly prepared and contains all the required conversion data in the correct format before uploading.

Step 2: Upload the CSV File and validate errors

Upload the CSV file to the platform and review the validation results carefully. If any errors are detected, correct them in the CSV file and re-upload the file.

How You Can Use This Feature

  • If your advertiser does not support postback integration or if the campaign is running offline, you can manually upload approved conversions using the Data Import feature.

  • This feature also allows you to send postbacks for approved conversions directly to publishers for accurate tracking and attribution.

  • While uploading the conversion CSV file, you can enable the option to fire postbacks to publishers based on your requirements.

Conversion Upload Scenarios:

  • Editing Existing Conversions

To edit an existing conversion, include the Conversion ID in the CSV file. Any additional columns uploaded with it will be updated automatically.

  • Adding New Conversions

If the advertiser has shared the Click ID, you can include it in the CSV file. Otherwise, remove the Click ID column, and the system will automatically generate unique Conversion IDs and Click IDs.

  • Migration of Historical Conversions

While importing past conversion data, make sure the same Publisher ID and Campaign ID exist on Trackier for proper attribution.

Tips:

  • Please remove the unwanted columns while uploading it.

  • Incorrect or missing data fields that are mandatory may cause upload failures or conversion mismatches.

  • Check the CSV format before uploading.

  • Always check the logs to ensure all conversions are processed successfully.

  • Test with sample files first

This table shows which fields are required ✅ and which fields are optional ❌ for the conversion upload process.

Note: For CPS Campaigns

For CPS campaigns, it is mandatory to include the revenue or sale amount values in the CSV file. Please ensure that these values are mapped to the corresponding field during upload. Submitting this data is essential for calculating accurate payout and revenue.

Example: If the campaign is on CPS and you've selected Sale Amount as the Payout Revenue Calculation Parameter in the campaign settings, please ensure that you include Sale Amount values in the CSV file when uploading conversions.

The Revenue and Payout for CPS campaigns will be calculated based on the Sale Amount provided in the CSV. Failing to include this data may result in incorrect calculation of the payout and revenue values for the CPS campaign.

  • If revenue and payout values are in percentages, please ensure to enter them as decimals or absolute values in the CSV file.

Step 2: Map the CSV columns

  • Click on Choose File and upload CSV; just after that, you will find the option to map the CSV fields to conversion fields. Make sure the CSV fields match the conversion fields to successfully upload conversions on the panel.

  • Now, after mapping is completed, you have three other options, which are mentioned below, and you can select the one that best suits your requirements.

    1. Don't fire postbacks: Postbacks will not be fired to the publisher if you select this option.

    2. Send postbacks for Approved and Pending conversions: This option will fire the conversions to the publisher for the approved as well as pending conversions. Conversions with any other status, apart from approved and pending, will not be sent to the publisher.

    3. Refire postbacks for approved and Pending conversions: You can refire the postbacks for approved and pending conversions, depending on your requirement.

Step 3: Upload

  • Click on upload, and once uploaded, it takes one minute to four hours for the data to get processed, depending on the CSV size.

Points to remember:

  • In the case of duplicate data, you will get a pop-up if you want to upload the same or remove the duplicate transactions.

  • If you want payouts to be applicable as per the date when the conversion occurred, you can select payout based on the backdate check box.

How to bulk upload conversion data?
  • If you have uploaded stats for today, they will be processed at maximum by the next day in the report section and not in real time.

  • The CSV upload system supports up to 50,000 rows; if there are more than 50,000 rows, we recommend splitting the file into two different parts and uploading them.

  • Keep a check on the log to review the status for completion or error.

Note: If the payout or revenue is uploaded in percentage format, the system will not accept the upload and will display an error. Alternatively, the data may not be uploaded at all, given that the system exclusively accepts numerical values.

Manually Upload Data

  • You can manually upload the conversion data by adding details such as campaign name, publisher, date, goals, sales value, Txn ID, etc.

Cancel Upload

There is an option for cancelling the CSV file while uploading it; it allows you to stop uploading the file on your panel in between.

For example, if you are uploading a CSV file with 500 conversions and cancel the upload midway, the process will stop, and the data will be partially uploaded.

The partial data uploaded from cancelled CSV files can also be deleted.

For example, if you are uploading 500 conversions and cancel the upload midway at 240, then those 240 conversions will be uploaded successfully, while the remaining data will not be uploaded. If you then delete the cancelled file, the partially uploaded data (the 240 conversions) will also be removed from the system.

The data of cancelled and processed files will show only if the upload is cancelled when it is in a progress state, not pending (please refer to the screenshot below).
