Overview
Caps in Trackier allow you to set limits on the amount of traffic or conversions a campaign receives within a defined time period.
By default, click caps and conversion caps are linked meaning if the click cap is reached, conversions are also blocked, regardless of whether the conversion cap has been hit.
In many cases, however, you may want these two caps to function independently. For example, a campaign may hit its click limit while still having room for more conversions, and blocking those conversions unnecessarily would result in lost revenue and inaccurate reporting.
What is a Click Cap?
A click cap sets a maximum limit on the number of clicks a campaign can receive within a given time frame. Once the click cap is reached, any further clicks on the campaign's tracking links are blocked or redirected, depending on your fallback settings.
What is a Conversion Cap?
A conversion cap sets a maximum limit on the number of conversions a campaign can record within a given time frame. Once the conversion cap is reached, any further conversions are rejected, regardless of how many clicks have been received.
Note: Before configuring independent caps, make sure you have already set up your click and conversion caps on the campaign. If you haven't done this yet, refer to Setting CAP Limits for Campaigns in Trackier to learn how to set caps at the campaign, publisher, and geo level, including hourly, daily, monthly, and lifetime cap options.
Trackier's Delink Conversion Cap from Click Cap setting solves this by allowing each cap to operate on its own terms.
Go to Customize in your Trackier panel
Select Campaign
Find and enable the Delink Conversion Cap from Click Cap option
Save your settings
Once enabled, this setting applies globally across all campaigns on your panel.

If this setting is enabled, then conversions will not be canceled if the click cap is reached they will be canceled only when the conversion cap is reached.
Default Behaviour Linked Caps
By default, click caps and conversion caps are linked in Trackier. This means:
When the click cap is reached β both new clicks and new conversions are blocked
When the conversion cap is reached β conversions are blocked regardless of click count
This default behavior works well when you want strict control over total traffic volume. However, it can cause valid conversions to be rejected simply because the click limit was reached first.
Delinked Behaviour Independent Caps
When you enable the Delink Conversion Cap from Click Cap setting, the two caps operate completely independently:
Conversions will not be cancelled when the click cap is reached
Conversions will only be cancelled when the conversion cap itself is reached
This is useful when your advertiser has a high conversion allowance but you want to limit the volume of clicks being sent, or when you are managing traffic quality without restricting the number of conversions being credited.
When to Use This Setting
Your campaign has separate click and conversion budgets that need to be managed independently
You want to limit traffic volume without blocking valid conversions from being recorded
Your advertiser allows more conversions than the click cap would otherwise permit
You are running campaigns where click-to-conversion rates are low and strict click caps would prematurely block conversions
Summary
By default, click caps and conversion caps in Trackier are linked meaning when the click cap is reached, conversions are also blocked, even if the conversion cap has not been hit yet.
This article explains how each cap type works individually, what the default linked behaviour means for your campaigns, and how to enable the Delink Conversion Cap from Click Cap setting so that each cap operates independently.
This is particularly useful when you want to control traffic volume through click caps without inadvertently blocking valid conversions that are still within the conversion cap limit.
