Overview
Managing publisher onboarding and tracking Affiliate Manager (AFM) performance is now simpler and more transparent with the Auto-Assign Publisher via AFM Referral Signup Link feature.
Earlier, a single generic signup form made it difficult to identify which AFM referred a publisher, often leading to manual effort and limited visibility. With this enhancement, each AFM can generate a unique referral signup link. Any publisher who registers through this link is automatically assigned to the respective AFM.
This not only eliminates the need for manual assignment but also provides clear attribution, making it easier to track performance, measure contribution, and streamline the onboarding process—all while improving efficiency and accountability across your network.
How It Works
When an AFM generates a signup URL from their Trackier panel, a unique afm_id parameter is automatically appended to the link. This parameter identifies the AFM who shared the link.
When a new publisher registers through this URL, Trackier automatically:
Captures the AFM ID from the URL parameter
Assigns the new publisher to that AFM
Logs the assignment action in the publisher's activity timeline for auditing purposes
Exception:
If the signup URL is generated by an admin or any other user role that does not include AFM permissions, the AFM ID parameter will not be included, and as a result, no auto-assignment will occur.
Example URL:
https://yourdomain.com/signup?afm_id=1234
In this example, any affiliate signing up via this link will be auto-assigned to AFM ID 1234.
NOTE:
If a sub-admin has been assigned both Sub-Admin and AFM roles, this logic will apply when they generate signup links.
The existing "Auto Assign Affiliate Manager" setting under Customize > Settings will still be available, but will have lower priority than this new URL-based assignment logic.
Who Can Generate an AFM Referral Signup Link?
The afm_id The parameter is only appended to the signup URL when the link is generated by a user with the Affiliate Manager (AFM) role or a Sub-Admin who also has AFM permissions.
User Role | AFM ID Appended? | Auto-Assignment Triggered? |
Affiliate Manager (AFM) | Yes | Yes |
Sub-Admin with AFM role | Yes | Yes |
Admin | No | No |
Any other role without AFM permissions | No | No |
Why Use the AFM Referral Signup Link?
Eliminate manual publisher assignment after every new signup
Track which Affiliate Manager referred and onboarded each publisher
Maintain a clear audit trail of all publisher assignments in the publisher's timeline
Reduce admin overhead when onboarding publishers at scale
Conclusion
The AFM Referral Signup Link removes the manual overhead of assigning publishers to their referring Affiliate Manager and creates a transparent, trackable onboarding process.
By having each AFM share their own unique link, you always know who brought in which publisher and the assignment happens automatically the moment they register.
