Advertiser Server Postback Integration
Updated over 11 months ago

At a Glance: Postback Integration is necessary to record the conversations on our Trackier's platform from the advertiser's end. To do the same, we need to share the server postback URL by adding the correct Macros and parameters on the Trackier's panel.

Overview

Postback integration is a crucial aspect of affiliate marketing and digital advertising. It refers to the process of sending conversion data or information back to a publisher or affiliate network after a specific action is completed by a user, such as a successful lead, sale, or other desired action. Common examples of integration in technology include integrating third-party plugins into software, connecting APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to enable data sharing between applications, and integrating different modules within an enterprise system.

Note:

  • You have the opportunity to track the conversions through either global-level postback or advertiser-level postback. Both levels have their own uses.

  • Global-level postback is mostly used with the integration of mobile marketing tools.

  • Advertiser-level postback is generally recommended by our tech experts to use in other instances.

Where to find the Advertiser Postback?

An advertiser-level postback can be fetched from two places in the platform.

First Method:

  1. Go to the Advertiser Manage section.

  2. Select the advertiser for whom you want the postback URL, and then locate it on the right side of the page.

Setup Campaign

Before sharing the postback with the advertiser, it is important to create the campaign on Trackier with the URL provided by the advertiser.

  1. Add Goal as per the information shared by the advertiser. (If needed)

Note:

You have to create goals on the panel based on the data given to you by the advertiser.

Generating Default And Goal Postback URLs

  • Your default conversion can be anything; it depends on the type of campaign you are running.

  • Goals can be installation, Registration, Purchase, etc.

  • In case you want to generate postback for the goal, select the checkbox Add goal value and then select the goal value from the drop down.

Testing And Troubleshooting Postback

  • Share the Default and Event Postback With advertisers, make sure they replace the needed macro with their own macro.

  • Share the test link with the advertiser so that they can do a system post-back test.

  • Check the logs to determine if there was a successful conversion from the advertiser's end.

  • If you don't get a conversion, check the postback hit received from advertisers to check the error.
